The Grand "O"

A big thank you to everyone involved with the grand opening!  I could not believe the support we got.  The beginner heat was awesome, great to see so many new faces!  A big congratulations goes out to Dave Luebke and Katherine Malnor for setting the best beginner scores at 276 and 263 respectively! With that they both earn free elements classes.  Also Kortney Bavone and Seth Hendricks posted the top scores for the Rx'd division at 262 and 357!  For that they each get a free month at CrossFit Beloit.

I also want to give a thank you to Lani Peterson for preping and cooking all of the food and just being an amazing coach!  To the Peguine aka Peggy Thiele (my mother) and Todd Champion for cleaning the gym.  To Emily Hendricks for painting the wall.  Paul Saevre from CrossFit Sanctify for letting us borrow a couple of rowers/urgs and helping to coach the beginners.  To all the sponsors of the event: Hendricks Commercial Properties, Thiele Heating, Terra Yard Creations, Prairie Avenue Concrete, and Paddle N Trail.  To the Leukemia Lymphoma Society for the support they gave, I have not gotten the totals yet but I have a feeling we raised upwards of $1,000.  I can feel it in my plums.

And thank you to everyone that came and gave support!  CrossFit is an amazing commuinty and I am proud to bring it to Beloit!

Tough Mudder After Math

Fun Fun time!  To everyone involved yesterday you are amazing people.  Pushing through an event like that is an amazing experience and I am so proud of everyone.  Thank you for the friendship and commitment to the CrossFit community!  I cannot wait for the zombie apocalypse to have all of you on my team!

Paleo challenge, anyone?!

Hi CrossFit Beloit people! If you are interested in participating in a Paleo Challenge starting mid-Sept, please comment here!

There will be more details soon, but for those who have done it in the past, this will be a simplified version of before - but still strict on what you consume (obviously).

If you plan to participate, we will have a meeting to go over details on Sept. 15th.

 What to Bring

  • Water!!! Make sure you hydrate well starting today!
  • I will have the jerseys and hand them out on the bus.
  • Gloves.  If you have pussy hands (you know who you are) they are a good idea but not necessary.
  • A change of clothes and after sport shoes.  The bus is very nice so please do not get back in it covered in mud.
  • Towel
  • Sun Block
  • Swimming attire for the after party.
  • Food.  There are coolers on the bus and I will bring some extras with ice.  You will be in a big caloric deficit after the race.  I recommend a bag lunch for after.  Food is also available for purchase at the event.
  • Beer will be provided on the bus for the ride home.  If you like to drink fru-fru shit you will need to bring your own.

The weather looks to be in the mid 70's which is perfect for a long distance event like this.  See everyone Saturday!

That being said the gym will be closed this Saturday.  Next year I hope to have even more participation from the members.  The Tough Mudder is an epic Event!
