CrossFit Beloit sweatshirts - Order sign up

So, we are getting some cool CFB sweatshirts made. If you have not "signed up" to order one at the gym, you can leave a comment here as well. We need to place the order by...TOMORROW (12/10). I know this isn't a lot of notice (sorry?), but most people have signed up at the gym. This is just a reminder for any last minute decisions or Xmas presents:)

Sweatshirts will be $60.00.

Women's color options are: Lime or Turqberry (or you can order the men's option).

Men don't get an option, unless they chose a girl's cut. The color will be Charcoal Grey.

Why consider no dairy?

When people try to go "Paleo" for the first time, it seems like you cannot have anything! But after while, most people see the benefits of not eating grains & avoiding sugar. And there is generally no question about processed foods. For the most part, avoiding the fake, nutrition-less food is easy for people to wrap their heads around.

But there is one thing that always seems to be up for debate. People seem to struggle with giving up dairy. And why give it up, it is good for you, right? Remember how you were once told that about grains...and you believed it? Food has changed - grains & dairy, both.

Check out this article & videos. You might think twice about that glass of milk!

New class times! Yay!

With the addition of another spectacular coach, we will be opening CrossFit Beloit on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays at 12:30PM! How exciting?!

Newest bad-ass coach @ CFB, Seth Hendricks!

If you are a current member you can attend any of these times, in addition to the "old" times on the class schedule.

Please be certain to use the fancy new system to sign up for classes you plan to attend. If no one is signed up for a 12:30 class, there is a good chance Seth will not be there just hangin' around (lulz). So, it is very important to sign up online!

Thanks!

Caution: Holiday Eating

holiday-eating-caution-sign.jpg

Check out this blog post! It may help you get through the holiday with out eating everything in sight...

http://robbwolf.com/2012/11/21/holiday-help-dealing-non-paleo-peer-pressure/

“But Grandma made it just for you.” “Have a beer with me – one won’t kill ya.” “Why aren’t you having any (insert non paleo food item here).” Yep, it’s that time of year again – time for the seemingly endless holiday parties, gatherings, and holiday celebrations. We’re all painfully aware that the season’s food-laden festivities often result in the ‘phenomenon that is, (insert sound of impending doom – dun, dun, dun), the elastic waistband’. While this is something we’d like to avoid, sometimes that seems an impossible feat due to being ‘guilted’ into eating and drinking things because of those pesky ‘holiday food pushers’ – (seriously, they are VICIOUS!!). I mean really, who wants to ‘strong arm’ Grandma or Cousin Eddie – there are just some things that you don’t do…  And damn if that beer, egg nog, pie, cookie, candy, stuffing and hell, even the jello were all a whole lot of tasty. The day after that gorge-fest, however; – um, can you say – EPIC Food Hangover!! This is like a fate worse than death in some cases – think ‘Montezuma’s Revenge’, along with a college hangover headache, and the lethargy of your common house cat… But it happened, and in a few days, maybe next week, and definitely again at Christmas – it’s going to happen again...

Limited class schedule week of 12/9-12/15

Hello Everyone,

Zac still has nothing to do with this post

Zac still has nothing to do with this post

Scott and I are attending a CrossFit training next week. Please take a look at the schedule online, as classes will be limited next Tuesday-Friday to 5:30AM & 5:30PM. There will be no Elements, unless arranged prior with Lani or Scott.

Apologies for the limited classes, but we will come back better coaches for having done the training! Thank you for understanding.
