Great training for the tough mudder next weekend.  And speaking of the next weekend for those that will not be joining us on that epic event there is a great benefit that CrossFit Rockford is hosting on July 23rd.

If you are not making the tough mudder please head down to CrossFit Rockford and show some support for brave Kate Foster!

Burpee Pull-ups

Today we introduced burpee pull-ups into our various forms of torture.  Looks like everyone had fun doing them so expect to see them again sometime.

Next I want to welcome two new fine young gentlemen into the community.  This morning was Mitch's intro and I think he liked it.  Then this evening Chase made it in and you know I think he like it also.  So when you get the chance make sure to welcome our newest members!

July 4th Weekend is Almost Here!

Little behind here Ladies and Gentlemen so bare with me as I catch up.  First order of business is to welcome our new members.  Last week we brought in 3 new brutes starting with Zach and Kyle, here is a little video of them getting after Grace.  Both are going to be monsters in no time.

Then we have the big man Trey.  Trey is a former College basketball star and CrossFit Athlete.  He was going to CrossFit Rockford last year and was pleasantly surprised when he found out Beloit has its very own CrossFit now.  So please welcome our new members to our community.

Next I want to thank the Miller Family for putting on an outstanding pig roast / family get together.  It was a lot of fun and there was a strong CrossFit showing with 8 CrossFit Athletes making it.  I also wanted to recognize the brave ones that came out Saturday morning to tough out the hero WOD "Murph".  We had all three Ryans; Hansen, McReynolds, and Miller; Trey and myself.  It was a long WOD but everyone gutted it out in memory of a true American Hero "Murph".

Last bit of information:  CrossFit Beloit will be closed this Saturday, Sunday, and Monday; July 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.  Tuesday the 5th we will be back to the regular schedule.  Thank you, have a fun and safe July 4th Weekend!

Pig Roast Time and "Murph"

Attention all CrossFit Beloit Crew!  You are invited to a Pig Roast hosted by the Miller Family at Big Hill's Park.  Fun starts at noon; food starts around 4.  And in honor of the event us CrossFitters are going to do an epic WOD in the morning that goes by the name of "Murph" (6:45 as Rx'd and 8:00 scaled).  Please click the link below and read up on this true American Hero.

"Murph"

For Time:

1 mile Run
100 Pull-ups
200 Push-ups
300 Squats
1 mile Run

Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed.  Start and finish with a mile run.  If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.

This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it 'Body Armor.' From here on it will be referred to as 'Murph' in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.
