WOD

Halloween Lifting session

Tonight we had 6 PR's which is huge.  The people making the PRs are the ones that regularly attend the lifting class which is no surprise.  So get your asses to the Thursday lifting class and see some improvements!  Big shout out to Kal for finally hitting that 135lb mark on the snatch.  Best your pulls have ever looked.  And also to Alex for surpassing the 100lb mark with her 105lb snatch!

And as always there is some good and there is ugly.  Watch your lifts and see what is right and see what you can improve on.  Always hit your positions!

Halloween WOD

Come Join us This Wednesday October 30th at 6 pm for a special Halloween WOD.  I encourage you to dress up as your favorite super hero for the event.  Please note that this workout is at 6 pm so there will not be 5:30 or 6:30 pm classes.  Thursday will be the regular lifting class.

Also Jeff and Fiona are hosting a Costume Party November 2nd at their homestead.  Directions and details will be posted at the gym.

Oly Lifting Thursdays!

Olympic Lifting Thursdays has been a blessing to the CrossFit Beloit Community.  At first I was a little nervous that it the class would not be attended well.  Apparently that is not a concern as there has been well over 15 members for the last 4 weeks.  The attendance of the class makes me proud as I know that the members of CFB take good movement seriously and I view that as you want to be better not just visually but functionally; which is the whole point of CrossFit!  I want to keep you out of a nursing home and the way to do that is establish a good range of motion and be f*ing strong through that range!

Below is a video of the class on 9/26.  We established some 1RM's to see what we have learned so far.  My plan is to do this every month too see how much we have learned.  If we take the lessons and work on our technique I am sure we will see amazing PR's every month.  As I told everyone as we were exiting the building it may be ugly but focus on the cues you have been given and you will improve!

Beloit Mud Run!!!

The Beloit Mud run is only a couple of weeks away and this is the perfect race for the newbies of mud runs!  This race has some of the best terrain and great obstacles....The best part is it is local and raising money for the Rock County Cancer Coalition!  The CrossFit Beloit WOD for the day will be this race and if you want to do it with the group sign up for the 11:00 spot.  Last year there was ice on the first water obstacle so the 11 spot is ideal (just ask Ryan Beckwith).  I expect to have at least 30 CrossFit Beloit Members representing!
