Tough Mudder After Math

I know I am a week behind with this but check out the photos from the Tough Mudder Event of the CrossFit Beloit Crew.

"And Finally the finish line.  What a great feeling to cross that!  You get the awesome orange head bands you see us sporting, a drink of water, banana, clif bar, and the last station is a beer.  I don't know if a beer has ever tasted as good as the one right after a 10 mile obstacle course!  Oh and notice how Mr. Miller is covered in Mud, check out the CrossFit Beloit facebook page to see a video of Ryan crashing while Mac jumps on his back.  Good Times!"

So this week our strength day was the Snatch and everyone struggled.  For good reason the Snatch is the most difficult Oly Lift there is.  But somehow Young Blood (AKA Casey) is a natural.  Keep in mind while watching the video that Young Blood is still in High School, this is his first time Snatching, and it's 140 lbs!

The Tough Mudder is Here!

 

The Tough Mudder is finally here and those that are participating are ready!  10 miles of running up a down a ski slope with 25  obstacles mixed in, anything from crawling under barbwire in mud to running thru dangling wires of 10,000 volts applied.  I don't know about you guys but I am excited and scared at the same time.  

Depending on what time we get back I would like to extend an invitation to all CrossFit Beloiters to a little post party.  Some Swimming and BBQ at the Thiele residents located at 1820 Cranston.  Food will be provided however it will be BYOB.  Let me know before hand if you are interested in coming and I will put you on the phone list to call on our arrival time.  I'm expecting to be back around 6 or 7.  

For the crew going to the mudder we are meeting at 6:30 at Beloit Family Restaurant and should be departing around 7:15 to get up there early enough to get mohawks and tattoos; don't forget to bring your mustache.

Remember for those that are not making it to the mudder be sure to head down to CrossFit Rockford for the benefit WOD in honor of Kate who is battling leukemia.

This WOD did not look that tough on paper but it was a nasty one.  5 rounds for time of:

 

  • 100m sprint
  • 20 Deadlifts
  • 20 push-ups
  • 10 deadlifts
  • 10 push-ups

I also came across a couple of good articles worth reading.  The first one is from CrossFit Providence about an athletes journey to a healthy life.  And the second one is from RWS CrossFit about looking good naked.  Enjoy.
