What a long week!  I don't know about you guys but I am completely beat.  Actually I do know because we had a week full of tough WODs.  Started the week off with a graciously named "Dip Sh#t" which was named by our newest member Fiona (I think she got sick of me saying dip shove and thinks I'm a dip sh#t).  Then we followed that up with Angie, a 100 of each Pullups, pushups, situps, and squats.  Just for the record the best posted time was by Ed who did it in 13:31 and oh did I mention Ed is 66 years old.  He put us youngens to shame.  Finished the week off with some max effort Push Jerks and a partner WOD called "The Freak Show In the Back".  For those of you that don't know that is what the workers at Prairie Avenue Concrete call us CrossFitters.  So everyone have a great weekend!

More Nubies

CrossFit Beloit is Growing!  3 people came in today and hit the ground running...literally.  So please everyone welcome Patty, Kevin, and Jeff.  Patty will be joining the MWF 5:30 pm crowd, Kevin will be a weekend warrior as he is working nights currently, and Jeff is yet to be determined.  I do have a fun fact about Jeff.  Jeff met Uncle Pukie and is the first person to sign the bucket!  So Jeff's word of advice is avoid McDonalds before you hit your first WOD.

  • 40 Kettle Bell Swings 1.5/1 pood
  • 50 Toes to Bar / Sit-ups
  • 100' Overhead walking lunge 45/25 lbs
  • 200 meter run

 I do have to pick on you ladies.  We need to work on that wall ball form (so guess what you are going to see more often).  Remember to keep that ball in front of you and use your legs to thrust the ball up.

 I will buy a round of drinks and dinner for anyone that voluntarily does this WOD at our gym and completes it in 25 minutes.  You can even scale the pull-ups.  Any takers???

New Member!

Everyone please help me welcome Ryan Miller into the CrossFit Community!  I am expecting great things from him as he destroyed his baseline ladder in an astonishing 9:24.  He is going to be a beast in no time.  Also Ryan proudly served his country in the Army and did two tours over in Iraq, so since we just celebrated Memorial day please make sure when you meet him to thank him for his service.

Update on the CrossFit Games:

Rockford's very own Brandon Pastorek placed second in the regional competition this past weekend and earned a spot to the 2011 CrossFit Games in LA.  The top prize this year is $1 million to the fittest person on earth.  So make sure to cheer on the local kid!
